Time magazine (yes, Time) published an interesting story yesterday asking the question: "Does Obama Have an Asian Problem?" With the exception of Hawaii, where Obama grew up, the majority of Asian-Americans are voting for Hillary. Pourquoi? The story posits several theories that all ring true to an extent--aversion to change, lack of familiarity with the candidate, racism. One of the most alarming things that I read in the piece was the statistic that only 34% of Asian-Americans between the ages of 18 and 25 vote. What. The. Fuck. People. ???. Even more of an abominasian was MTV's Choose or Lose spot targeting this demo, which aired last year: Holding a Joy Suck Club reunion with Ming-Na, Tamlyn Tomita, and Russell Wong (who looks to be suffering from White Man's Puff) ain't gonna reach the 18-25 demo. Ming-Na and Tamlyn still look good, but, like me, they're 800 years old, and they're not really reprzentin' for the young folk, naw mean? We had such boring bedding for my son when he was an infant. White sheet, white bumper. No frills, nothing special. For my second baby, I wanted something a little fun (plus his bumper and sheets were so grimy and didn't hold up very well anyway). I came across crib bedding from Picci and fell in love. We chose the Hippy Balls Bedding Set ($350), from Picci's Contemporary Collection (pictured to the left). I went with this playful 100% cotton soothing swirly palate of aqua, green, tan and white with chenille accents because it perfectly matched the colors in our Sea and Sky themed nursery. The set contains a fitted sheet, bumpers, dust ruffle and comforter. I liked the fine quality of the bedding (and most likely the bumpers and the comforter will be used as our baby girl gets a little bit older). Celebrities such as Marcia Cross, Heidi Klum, Usher, Nancy O'Dell, Ming-Na, Tony Hale and Casey Affleck are fans of Picci. Picci's Petra bedding set was featured on the season opener of ABC's Extreme Makeover Home Edition on September 30, 2007. It looks like Samantha Harris' baby is going to get an early leg up on dancing. The hostess of Dancing with the Stars recently received an ICRIB from Munchkin. This crib mounted device allows parents to pop in their preloaded Ipod or mp3 player to craft a custom sound and light show that soothes their babies to sleep. It's a favorite of celebs from Ming Na to David Caruso, Craig Robert Young, Amy Acker and James Carpinello. Filed under: BonesHere's an interesting bit of news from Kristin over at E Online: producers of Bones will solve the mystery from the short-lived show Vanished on the show this fall. Now, that's undoubtedly fantastic news for fans of Vanished (both of you), and it's intriguing that the network and the people behind Bones would actually want to take the time and effort to solve a mystery from a show most people have forgotten. But it's very cool, something you don't see on TV that often. I'm sure the episode will be more Bones-centric than Vanished-centric, but it's a great idea. Murder, She Wrote did this once. Splash News Online Angie Harmonand about 30 guests gathered Sunday afternoon for her baby shower at a pal's house in Los Angeles. The actress -- along with friends including Amber Valletta, Garcelle Beauvais-Nilon, Holly Robinson Peete, Meredith Salenger, Lori Loughlin, Julie Moranand Ming Na- enjoyed the afternoon at the home of Angie's friend, Jamie Tish, who hosted with Jill Eistenstadt-Chayet. The day was nothing short of sweet -- with plenty of candy everywhere, a cake from Sweet Lady Jane and champagne to kick off the lunch. L'Occitane assembled the gift bags. Tish and Eistenstadt-Chayet delivered speeches, as did Angie herself. "It was very sweet and touching," says a guest. According to a source, Angie and husband Jason Sehornknows the sex of the baby but are keeping it a secret, so all gifts were unisex. Angie and Jason, both 36, announced in Augustthey were expecting their third child this winter. Their new addition will join the couple's daughters Finley Faith, 5, and Avery Grace, 3.
